Aboka from Capability Career Group led our community in Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Workshop, a subject prevalent with Canada’s realization of existence of systemic and institutional racism after the May 2020 Black Lives Matter protests. The session that was so powerful and engaging. It completely shook us all awake by breaking stereotypes and prejudices that we may knowingly or unknowingly hold, backed by a wealth of knowledge and experience. She kept it light and conversational at times while also powerfully sending the serious message that we all bleed red and the need for change on racism is very very real. She empowered us to go inwards and assess our own biases and recognize that change starts from within us. Aboka knows how to bring community together. She knows how to educate and empower, and she does it extremely well. She is an incredible speaker and facilitator, and this was hands down, the most engaging two hours I’ve spent in any workshop.
